Government Spokesperson Colonel mretired Cyrus Oguna has urged young people to engage in economic activities that can provide them with an income instead of relying on aid from politicians.

Speaking after meeting with youths in Kaptembwa area in Nakuru West Sub-County about business recovery strategies that were hampered by the economic impact of Covid-19, the spokesperson challenged young people to take advantage of government-initiated programs to improve their lives them instead of relying on aid from politicians.

Oguna, who was accompanied by Nakuru County Commissioner Erastus Mbui Mwenda, said young people had a good opportunity to get loans from financial institutions to set up small businesses that would employ other people and thus reduce unemployment and crime.

He said Nakuru County had received 33 billion shillings between the months of July and December from the National Equality Promotion Fund (NGAAF).
