Ugandan socialist living in South Africa Zarina Hassan is a happy and proud woman. The founder and CEO of Brooklyn City University (BCC), popularly known as Zari Hassan, was delighted when a recent group of students graduated.

She took to her social media platforms to celebrate student achievements. He said he was happy that the students were leaving the college with life equipment, making them more independent and resilient.

“Let me re-launch Brooklyn City College (BCC) where we focus on good teaching as well as focusing on student expectations, achievements and personal development. The BCC community is warm and friendly and offers the highest standards of academic excellence. Students are taught skills and strategies to help them become self-reliant and confident, preparing them for the next stages of life, ”read part of his post.

He said the institute was providing academic training and also enables students to be good and fit citizens in the community instead of their good marks.

“We are proud of our academic achievement but education means a lot more than just higher grades. Arts, sports, social services, and entertainment are all important to the equality programs we provide and we recognize our responsibility to prepare young people to be confident, caring and responsible, ”he wrote.

BCC was founded in 2008 by Zarina and her late husband, Ivan Ssemwanga.

“Good schools are built by the efforts of good people and I believe that our lecturers and students are among the best. This is another graduation year, ”he wrote.

BCC has branches in Pretoria, Johannesburg, Rusternburg, Nelspruit, Polokwane, Vereeniging, Durban and East London.

Recently, Zari became the second woman to be followed in East Africa on Instagram with nine million followers. The first is Oscar-winning Kenyan film actress Lupita Nyong’o.
