Two dormitories at Kabianga High School in Kericho County were destroyed by fire on Friday night.

The fire broke out around two o’clock at night while the students were in the evening classes.

The source of the fire has not been identified. Citizens, teachers and students were determined to put out the fire without success.

This is the second case of a school fire in Kericho County in the past two weeks.

Similar cases have occurred at Cheborgei Boys’ High School and the academic institution in the South Rift area.

Fires have also been reported at Kimulot Boys’ High School in Bomet County and Olomirani in Narok County.

The DCI has warned students against engaging in acts of misconduct at school while the Ministry of Education and the National Police Service are strategizing to identify undisciplined students in schools.

However the government had previously announced that it would test students for blood to identify those who use drugs in schools.
