The Kenyan team that participated in the Relays world tournament has returned from Poland

The 30 Kenyan athletes who participated in the 5th edition of the world pole vault race in Silesia Poland last weekend, returned to the country early on Tuesday.

The team won a total of three silver and 2 bronze medals, a better result than in 2019 where Kenya grabbed only one bronze medal.

Ferguson Rotich and Naomi Korir won the 400-meter prize for two athletes running around the stadium twice each known as 2x2x400 and the other prize money in the 200-meter final for four athletes swinging the stick through Mark Otieno, Mike Mokamba, Elijah Onkware and Hesbon Ochieng together and bronze in the Mixed shutle hurdles relay race through Rukia Nusra, Wiseman Were, Michael Musyoki and Priscilah Tabunda.

Kenya finished third with 24 points behind Italy with 32 points and Poland with 37 points.

The athletes will now focus on next month’s national Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in Algeria, the national Olympic qualifiers as well as the Under-20 World Championships.
