The court has remanded the suspect for 21 days’ murder – KBC


Kajiado Magistrate’s Court has remanded a man accused of killing his wife for 21 days to enable police to complete an investigation.

While appearing before Chief Justice Susan Shitubi, Corporal Stephen Kyalo asked the court to give them 21 more days to gather information from witnesses, to have the results of an investigation and to obtain a psychiatric report from Mathare Hospital so that he could forward the file to the office. Rinard Kamerino Allan is accused of killing his wife Cynthia Chepsang Chepkuto on May 1, 2021, inside the Sina Estate in the city of Kajiado.

According to police, the killings were reported by neighbors who heard the violence coming from the couple’s home and were later followed by silence.

Neighbors reported the matter to village elder Richard Lemayian who found the house locked outside.

After opening the house, Cynthia’s body was found wrapped in sheets and lying on the floor, beside which was a bottle allegedly used to kill her.

The court heard that after a preliminary investigation, police found that Cameroon had tried to dispose of the body but failed.

He decided to flee the area but was later arrested by police on Saturday, May 1.

According to neighbors, the couple, who have lived in the area for three years all the time, had an altercation that caused Chepsang to flee from the marriage hall only to Cameroon to defeat him.

The marriage however continued to have a rock that led to Chesang’s death. The body was taken to Kajiado Referral Hospital.

The court granted the police their request and the suspect is being held at Kajiado Police Station. The trial is set to begin on May 24, 2021.
