The ARC African Car Race officially kicked off on Friday with 17 drivers including Carl ‘Flash’ Tundo in a Minti Motorsport VW Polo R5, Baldev Chager driving a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 10-R4, Karan Patel in a car Ford Fiesta R5, Rai siblings Onkar and Tejveer for l VW Polo R5.

7 R5 vehicles are taking part in the three-day race which is a test run for the WRC Safari Rally to be held in Kenya between June 24 and 27 this year.

The competition will have 6 stations and was officially launched by the Minister of Sports Dr. Amina Mohammed in the Naivasha KWS area.

The competition will enter its second day on Saturday before the end of Sunday.
