According to Telegram CEO Pavel Durov, video calls will feature “Screen sharing, encryption, noise cancellation, desktop support and tablet – everything you can expect from a modern video conference tool, but with Telegram level UI, speed and decoding. “

Since the start of the epidemic in 2020, video conferencing has been widely sought after. Ost companies took work models from the home of its employees to prevent the spread of the virus. Video conferencing programs such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet have seen tremendous growth during this period. WhatsApp recently made video and voice calls to its users on the desktop, making it attractive for office meetings.

Although Telegram already offers end-to-end coverage for individual video calls, the same has not been verified for group video calls.

Telegram has grown significantly during the catastrophic period, with the highest growth rate reached in early 2021. The company announced that it has received 400 million monthly users since April this year.

Growth can also be linked to a WhatsApp ad that asks users to accept a privacy policy review or uninstall the app. The ad saw a huge transfer of users who opted for Telegram and Signal.
