As the nation witnessed a series of student visas burning down schools, The government has said it will test students for blood to identify those who use drugs.

Education Minister Prof George Magoha said there are students who use drugs in schools while adding that the government will soon hunt down the perpetrators and take action against them.

Magoha he said in collaboration with the Criminal Investigation Department -DCI will develop special statistics to identify undisciplined students in schools.

Magoha said this during an inspection visit to the girls’ school Ogande in the county of Homa Bay.

The minister said the government would remain vigilant to ensure the safety of teachers and ensure that they were not intimidated by violent students

“We will put in place comprehensive strategies to protect school property as well as the safety of teachers to ensure that academic activities are not disrupted,” said Magoha.

referring to the recent spate of arson cases in some schools in the country, Magoha he called on teachers to be vigilant and inspect school buildings to prevent any serious conspiracy.

He told school administrators take any equipment that students can use to light fires, especially corona antibodies.
