ODM party leader Raila Odinga has insisted that a referendum on the BBI’s reconciliation plan should be held before the 2022 general election.

Speaking at St. Paul’s Catholic Church Augustine in Lodwar, Turkana County, Odinga has dismissed those who are calling for a run-off election.

Odinga, who was concluding his three-day visit to promote the BBI report in Turkana County, said such proposals were aimed at undermining constitutional amendments.

In addition, he has rejected the proposal to have several questions during the referendum, saying it should be yes or no.

The former Prime Minister was responding to a call by Turkana County Governor Josphat Nanok that the referendum should have a number of questions.

He called on Nanok, Turkana residents and Kenyans in general to support the initiative, saying it would address the shortcomings in the 2010 constitution.
