ODM party leader Raila Odinga has once again reiterated that the subsidy to buy cars that the president promised ward representatives is not an incentive for ward representatives to support the BBI’s constitutional amendment bill.

Speaking in Kakuma, Turkana County today, the opposition leader said the ward representatives also deserved the same car privileges as MPs.

The ODM leader said the bill would be of great benefit to county areas and that the ward representatives would support the bill even without the benefits of buying a car.

At the same time, Odinga said young people would benefit greatly from the bill.

He added that the BBI process proposes a national youth fund that will enable them to grow economically.

Raila blamed deputy president William Ruto for promoting the wheelbarrow campaign as one way to improve the economic situation of the youth.

On Tuesday, the opposition leader said ward representatives were playing a key role in the country’s development and should not be ignored in the issue of subsidies that their colleagues in the national parliament and the Senate enjoy.

If MPs receive a car grant of 7 million shillings, why should it be wrong for ward representatives to receive it? ”Asked Raila.
