According to CS, the move is aimed at preventing an increase in sexual harassment and disciplinary cases including killings in the National Police Service (NPS).

Strict rules, which the minister said will be implemented by July this year, will prevent police officers from dating or marrying colleagues in the service.

He was speaking on Friday during the enrollment of new police employees at the Kiganjo Campus National Police College in Nyeri County.

“We are increasing the practice of police service management,” he said.

“We have to adopt a new approach [of doing things]. We will create a new sexual relations office that will be under the supervision of the Inspector General of Police. Some female police officers have filed complaints of sexual harassment. I want to assure you that it will not happen later. ”

Going forward, it would be illegal for a police officer to date or marry a fellow law enforcement officer. two policemen love each other, then one has to leave the Service, ”he said.

Earlier this month, a police officer who joined the CS office shot and killed his wife before shooting himself.
