Kakamega County Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has expressed hopes of securing the party’s ticket to run for the presidency in 2022.

Oparanya, who is the chairman of the country’s Council of Governors, has said he will apply for nominations to join those who will be vying for the party’s ticket to run for president.

The ODM party has already asked its members to submit applications to the national electoral board if they want to run for the presidency with the party’s ticket to the 2022 presidential election.

The party has stated that those wishing to run for office must pay a fee of one million shillings to the party’s bank account.

In order for a candidate to be eligible for the seat, he or she must be a Kenyan who has registered as a voter and must also be a permanent member of the ODM party and have graduated from any recognized university.

In addition, he will be required to have the required criteria for presidential candidates as coordinated by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
