The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC) has upgraded its port online by introducing a Geographic Information System (GIS) map for online applications for a new water and sewage connection. The company released a simple online portal in February 2020, giving users efficiency in using new connections. The connection time was reduced from 30 to 14 days according to the NCWSC reform on the ease of making a business agenda.

“To increase port efficiency, NCWSC has included a GIS Map to enable customers to identify the location of their buildings on Google Maps. This is an improvement from the previous process where a customer had to upload a map of their location to the port. the government said in a notice.

To pay for a new water or sewer connection, customers can use the USSD number * 888 # and select 6 Water and Sewage options on their mobile phones. The reference number provided will act as the account number in this case. Customers can also use the same USSD number to track their applications.
