More than 735 people are infected with Covid-19 in the country

The Ministry of Health has stated that the total number of cases of covid-19 infection in the country is 160,053 from a total number of 1,675,310 samples tested since March last year.

Among those new visas, people 634 are Kenyan citizens while 101 are foreign nationals while 429 are male and 306 are female.

The youngest victim is an eight-month-old baby while the oldest is 97 years old.

Patients 224 most have recovered from the disease where 177 have left the home care program and 47 have been allowed to leave various health facilities across the country.

The total number of Covid-19 survivors in the country is 108,789 where 79,234 they have come out of the home care program and 29,555 they came from various health institutions across the country.

During that period 24 patients died as a result of Covid-19. The total number of deaths due to covid-19 in the country is 2,744.

Patients 1,304 they have been admitted to various health institutions across the country 6,648 being in the care of patients at home.

According to health minister Mutahi Kagwe, patients 188 they were admitted to the intensive care unit ICU, 31 using respirators, 113 receiving extra Oxygen and 44 undergoing tests.

At the same time the health ministry has vaccinated people 884,858 against the Covid-19 virus across the country.

Of those vaccinated, 515,288 are 58 years of age and older, 157,967 are health workers, 137,348 teachers and 74,272 security officers.
