Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko on Tuesday morning was taken to hospital after suffering from stomach problems.
According to one of his aides, Sonko complained of abdominal pain that worsened over the weekend.
Officials said Sonko had high blood pressure which led to his being hospitalized.
Sonko is expected to know the fate of his bail application on Tuesday as well as the decision on an appeal filed by the police to detain him for a further 30 days due to charges of involvement in terrorist acts.
Last week Sonko was arraigned in Kiambu Magistrate’s Court where he was charged with various offenses and aggravated robbery in Buruburu Phase Four.
