Embu County Governor Martin Wambora has taken over the reins of the country’s governors’ council while guaranteeing co-operation with all stakeholders to achieve a devolution system in the country.

Speaking shortly after being elected to replace Kakamega County Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, Wambora said the country’s governors’ council would work with key institutions such as the ethics and anti-corruption commission to curb misuse of funds in county governments.

Regarding the BBI bill, the new chairman of the country’s governors’ council stressed the commitment of governors to support constitutional amendment

Governor Wambora, who is serving a second term as Embu County governor, has survived four dismissals by the Embu County legislature since 2014.
