Fredrick Osok on Friday was arraigned before Makadara senior magistrate Stephen Jalang’o.

The suspect did not take the request as police sought more time to detain him while concluding an investigation into the incident which took place on Monday night.

Police Constable Victor Odhiambo who joined DCI Kayole told the court that he was investigating a case of theft and violence of which Osok is a suspect.

The court heard that on April 19, a robbery and violence took place in the Administration area near the Magunas Supermarket along East Road.

Police who responded to the alarm found that Joseph Mwangi Thitu, a KDF officer in the Coffee camp, was attacked by three robbers.

The gang confiscated her purse, which contained an undisclosed amount of money. Then they shot him.

The investigating officer sought more time to search and record information from all key witnesses, to obtain bank statements and M-Pesa of the fallen soldier.

He also said that he needs to inspect photos from the crime scene.

Odhiambo wanted to hold the suspect for five days, a request Osok opposed.

According to him, he was arrested simply because he was cooperating with the officer in the evening.
