Lily Chepngetich Ngók is approved as Kericho Deputy Governor


Kericho County Assembly today approved the appointment of Lily Chepngetich Ngók as deputy governor.

The speaker of the county assembly, Dominic Rono, announced the results, after a motion to assent him, was unanimously approved by the county assembly.

Approved members of parliament praised him, saying his 16 years of experience in public service would enable him to strengthen management in the county.

During an interview, conducted by the Kericho County Assembly on the 13th of this month, Ngók pledged to reduce the gender inequality gap in the Kericho County Assembly, by involving more women and youth, in employment opportunities.

Haya said he would reach out through the enrollment of all qualified students and the courses they have taken, ready for job vacancies.

He is expected to take over the post of deputy governor after Kericho County governor, Professor Paul Chepkwony, appointed him following the sudden death of the late Ms. Susan kikwai.

Kikwai died after contracting COVID-19 disease last month.
