The Kenya Editors Association is a professional editorial association in Kenya, with its chief editors, broadcasters and editors online, and academics and journalists.

The Association and its members are committed to advocating for and promoting freedom of the press and editorial freedom, and for promoting good journalism and ethics.

It also provides a platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences that are relevant within and for the media.

Two days ago, the Editorial Party criticized Director of Criminal Investigation George Kinoti for summoning the editorial leadership of Royal Media Services.

The team had been called upon to advertise the company showing how the police hired guns for criminals.

“As far as we can tell, there is no criminal investigation against the editors and journalists of Royal Media Services over the manufacture.

“The Police Service should therefore use its power, time and resources to investigate criminal activity within its ranks and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice,” Otieno said.

The party has advised Royal Media Services to ignore the call and reduce its involvement with the Police Service.
