Kodak Black admits charges against him

American musician Kodak Black has pleaded guilty to assaulting a young woman. He had previously been charged with rape but the change was made after he accepted a contract with a court in the Florence, South Carolina, United States.

Black, whose real name is Bill Kapri, faces up to 10 years in prison but according to academics he does not have to go to prison as long as he completes an 18-month probationary period where he is expected not to commit another offense.

The victim, who also accused Kodak of watching the court session via the Internet where Black spoke to him and apologized.

The artist later explained via Twitter that the victim wanted to end the case quickly and that he would not have to pay her money.

The incident happened in 2016 when the rapper had gone to Florence for a concert.

The girl said Kodak attacked her in a hotel room and stabbed her in the neck and chest and continued to do so even after she begged him to stop.

Black was released from prison in January 2021 where he was serving a three-year prison sentence for using fake receipts to buy a gun.

He is one of the lucky ones to receive a presidential pardon from Donald Trump on his last day in office. The musician who was also pardoned is Lil Wayne for an offense related to a weapon, especially a gun.
