Kenyans take to the field on Saturday night as the 5th edition of the Relays world tournament kicks off


Kenyan athletes will take to the field on Saturday night in Silesia Poland on the first day of the 5th article of the world pole vault.

The women’s 400-meter team for four runners in the women’s pole vault will be the first to descend on the field in the first round starting at 6pm,

with Kenyan participants Gladys Musyoki, Veronica Mutua Sylvia Chesebe and Mary Moraa, Kenya being included in the second round along with France, Cuba and the Netherlands.

Later there will be a men’s 400m qualifier with Kenya in the first round along with France, the Czech Republic, Colombia and Japan with Kenyan representatives Stanley Kieti, William Rayian, David Sanayek, and Kevin Kiprotich.

Naomi Korir and world champion bronze medalist in the 800 meters Ferguson Cheruiyot will reach the 400m final with each athlete running around the field twice popularly known as 2x2x400.

Kenyan captain Aaron Koech will lead his 400-meter team with four hybrid athletes in the first round alongside Joan Cherono, Mary Moraa and Jared Momanyi starting at 2.20pm.

The only final for Kenyans on Saturday night is the shuttle hurdles relay mixed from 3pm to 2pm Kenyan team including Priscilah Tabunda, Michael Musyoka, Nusra Rukia and Wiseman Were.

The competition features more than 1000 athletes from 34 nations who will compete in 9 disciplines after withdrawing from Jamaica, Trinidad n Tobago, India and Canada for a variety of reasons including travel restrictions.
