Kenya takes silver and bronze on the first day of the world relays tournament in Poland


Kenyans got off to a good start in the fifth edition of the world championships in Poland after grabbing silver and bronze medals on Saturday night.

800-meter world bronze medalist Ferguson Rotich and Naomi Korir won the silver medal in the 2x2x400 mixed relay race for 3 minutes 41 seconds 17 points behind the Polish hosts who took the lead for 3 minutes 40 seconds 92 points while Slovenia grabbed bronze .

Kenya had previously won bronze in the 400-race relay to take the baton Priscilla Tabunda starting before handing over the reins to Michael Musyoka and Nusra Rukia took the baton while Wiseman Were took the final baton for 59 seconds 89 points.
