Sunday’s special medal for Kenyans was won in the 200-meter race by four men swinging the men’s stick, Mark Otieno starting before handing over to Mike Mokamba while Elijah Onkware held the third pole before Hezbon Ochieng finished.

In total Kenya won three medals 2 silver and one bronze in the competition, the first prize being a 400m race for two athletes (400x2x2) and bronze in the shuttle Hurdles relays.

This year’s results were better than those of 2019 in Yokohama Japan where Kenya won only one bronze medal.

However, the men’s and women’s 400-meter teams for the four-legged athletes missed out on the Olympic qualifiers after finishing in the finals.
