“Kenya has demonstrated its unique ability to host international competitions and we welcome the world to the WRC competition here in the country between June 24 and 27 as well as the world athletics competition for the under-20s on August 17 to 22” said Amina

The Minister added that the country has imposed strict conditions on compliance against COVID 19 to ensure the lives of all participants in these world competitions are not in danger.

“We have put in place a special Covid 19 system that must be followed before returning to sports in the country that will ensure the safety of local and international sports participants. Sports is an important link for this nation and we are committed to promoting and expanding our sovereignty not only here in the country, but also at the international level ”added Amina

The president of the International Federation of Athletics Federations (FIA) Jean Todt, who spoke at the meeting with Minister Amina, commended Kenya for their preparations for this year’s world championships.
