KeNHA Extends Bunyala-Nyayo Section Freeway Freeway By 21 Days –

Part of the Uhuru Highway between Nyayo Stadium and Bunyala roundabout will be closed for a further 21 days from April 30 to May 20, 2021, to open the way for the ongoing construction of the Nairobi Road.

This was announced by the director general of the Kenya Highways Authority (KeNHA) Peter Munindia, who advised motorists to use alternatives.

“The Kenya National Highway Authority (KeNHA) would like to inform the general public that there will be traffic congestion along Uhuru Highway between the Bunyala roundabout and the Nyayo Stadium for a long 21-day period from Friday the 30th. April, 2021 to Thursday, May 20, 2021. This is to pave the way for the ongoing construction of the Nairobi Expressway along Mombasa Road, ”said Munindia.

“Drivers of vehicles are advised to use alternatives as shown in the scheme below. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause as we strive to provide a better, safer and more reliable road. ”

The 27km Nairobi Expressway, which is due to be completed by 2022, is expected to reduce traffic congestion in Mombasa.

The project is being carried out by the China Roads and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) in a public-private partnership (PPP).
