K24 Poaches Citizen TV’s Viusasa Boss


  • Mediamax Limited which owns K24 TV among other brands have been beaten Viusasa Head of News Chrisphine Magak to lead her editorial team.

    Sources highly regarded in the media have received information kenyagist.com that Magak will oversee Mediamax digital platforms and help improve its digital products.

    Chrisphine will also lead the redesign of Mediamax-related news websites.

    While working at Royal Media Services, he was instrumental in establishing the ViASA information team. Previously Citizen TV the product focused on video content.

    Prior to Royal Media Services, Chrisphine worked there Opera News, Standard Media Group and other sports websites.

    He will be filling the vacancy previously held by former Digital Content Manager Joel Muinde who left Mediamax in April for the NGO world.

    Muinde joined the World Heritage Fund, an international NGO founded in 1961 that works in the field of desert conservation and mitigation of human impact on the environment.

    Muinde Deputy Brian Okoth left Mediamax for Standard Media Group as its News and Current Editor for digital platforms.

    All three journalists have worked for Royal Media Services at some point in their lives.

    Other recent staff changes include changes at Nation Media Group where Joseph Warungu was appointed editor-in-chief of the house’s advertising unit.

    kenyagist.com also found out that Fridah Mwaka and Lofti Matambo and are expected to air 7pm on NTV but it is not yet known when they will be hosted.

    The two are expected to start work in the first week of May 2021.
