JSC to interview candidates for Supreme Court Justice tomorrow


The Judicial Services Commission tomorrow will begin questioning candidates for the post of Supreme Court judge.

Seven people are running for the post, which was vacated following the retirement of Judge Professor Jackton Boma Ojwang ‘.

The JSC had listed nine candidates who were expected to be interviewed in the process of finding a new judge for the court.

However, Judge M’Inoti Kathurima withdrew from the race with Martha Koome, the nominee, not one of the candidates.

This time more than one candidate will be interviewed in one day.

The first in the interview is Chitembwe High Court Judge Said Juma who will be interrogated at 3am, followed by Marete Njagi who will be interrogated at 5am.

Judge Nduma Nderi will be questioned on Tuesday at 3am followed by Dr. Nyaberi Justry Patrick Lumumba at 5am.

On Wednesday, Judge Ouko William Okello will be questioned at 3pm and Judge Sergon Joseph Kiplagat will be questioned at 5am with lawyer Alice Jepkoech Yano closing the hearing at 6.30pm.
