Inspector-General of Police Hillary Mutyambai has instructed the Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI) to form a special team that will investigate the shocking abductions and deaths of four Kitengela men.

Speaking today in Kiganjo during the official opening ceremony of the cadet inspection course for direct entry, Mutyambai revealed that the team has already been formed and is already working.

He further added that the detective team will issue the same report for one month as promised to reach its end.

“This morning, I have instructed the DCI assassination team to investigate this matter to bring it to an end.” “The team has already started its work,” Mutyambai said.

Yesterday, police authorities confirmed the discovery of the body of one of the four missing on April 19 in Kitengela, Kajiado County.

Benjamin Imbai’s body was unearthed at the General Kago Funeral Home in Thika by his family members on Wednesday.

According to local authorities, Imbai’s body was taken to a pond by police officers on April 20. The body had been collected from a bush in the area.

This was a day after he was reported missing along with his friends, Elijah Obuong, 35, Brian Oduor, 36, and 37-year-old Jack Ochieng.

Obuong’s body was also found Thursday in a mortuary in Murang’a County.

Police said the body was found by sand harvesters along the Mukungai River along the Murang’a-Iyego-Kangema road on April 20.

The body, according to Obuong’s brother, did not have any visible injuries.

The four men were reported missing after eating a roast lunch and drinks at a bar in Kitengela.

The day they disappeared, the men were seen arriving at a joint where they enjoyed their food and drinks. They recently left the club at 3:00 pm and headed for the parking lot where the Toyota Mark X car was parked.

That was the last time they were seen and their phones did not go through. It is believed that the friends were abducted.

A Toyota Mark X was found abandoned in a 500-meter parking lot from the club the next day.

A police officer who was aware of the investigation into the disappearance of the four friends who were known daily to say that the men were on the police radar on criminal activities.

The official said three other gang members “disappeared” under similar circumstances last year.
