The President also issued an order to adjust the curfew starting at 10:00 pm and ending at 4.00 am in Nairobi, Machakos, Kiambu, Kajiado and Nakuru Counties starting at 6pm.

Uhuru issued a directive during a Labor Day celebration held at the Nairobi White House saying the decision to reduce some of these measures was a result of a reduction in Covid-19 infections in the designated area.

“After one month of closure, Covid payments within the designated area have decreased by 72%. In other parts of the Republic, Covid payments have dropped by 89% in Mombasa and 90% in Busia between March and April,” he said. .

“Personal and congregational worship will resume in strict accordance with the guidelines issued by the Interfaith Council between the Ministry and Health. However, the congregation attends one-third of the capacity of the place of worship,” he ordered.

Restaurants and bars are also allowed to operate up to 7Pm in strict compliance with Covid-19 protocols.

Uhuru also ordered all hospitals to reduce the number of visitors of patients admitted to one guest per patient per day.
