Five suspected Nabbed terrorists with explosions in Makueni –


Police in Makueni County are holding five terror suspects arrested with explosives in Mtito Andei.

The five were arrested by Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) who were on patrol in Mtito Andei City.

Carrying a warning from the public about the suspects, detectives reported the registration number of a Nissan Salon KBR 142L and five people crowded outside the restaurant.

The five include the driver of the vehicle, Cyrus Wamwea Thiongo, 52, Abdinassir Hirsi Hapicha, 34, Ali Gibaba Hapicha, 42, Omar Halake Jillo, 60 and Administrative Police Officer Ali Gollo Garaqo who claimed to be a linked DCI officer. and Flowers Police Station in Meru County.

While searching the car booth, the sleuths found a load that was inside a small box wrapped in a polythene bag.

Inside the box was a cylinder pipe connected by two wires, copper wires, Six wires with dangerous explosives and 3 kg of white powder.

The suspects were escorted to Mtito Andei Police Station where they are being held while police continue their investigation.

Meanwhile, the case has been handed over to the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU) while the specimens have been sent for further investigation by bomb experts.

Kenyan security forces are on high alert for a possible terrorist attack in the country.
