FAO: Kenya controls locust invasion

The agency added that officials are conducting an investigation to determine if there are any remaining groups of these insects.

Last week, the agency said the delayed rains had helped to combat the pests as they needed rain to mature and lay eggs.

The FAO also said that during this year’s drought season, locust swarms had not matured for several months.

Last week, government spokesman Cyrus Oguna said the locusts had dropped from 25 counties to three counties.
