Reports from the Deputy President’s office indicate that the DP did not receive an invitation following President Samia’s visit and that he was not among those invited to the State Hosue dinner later tonight.

“The DP has not received any invitation,” Dr Ruto’s Director of Communications Emmanuel Talam told Nation.

Unfortunately, while President Uhuru Kenyatta was receiving President Samia, DP William Ruto was meeting with religious leaders in his Karen office.

The DP’s absence in many government activities has shown a strained relationship with its boss, President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Last month in an interview, Ruto admitted that he was different from President Uhuru Kenyatta, which had seen him pushed away from the government.

Ruto said things went awry after the 2017 General Elections when people he called “coal” joined the government.

“You can’t say for sure that you are tracking when I am talking or not talking to my boss,” Ruto told Kaikai. “It simply came to our notice then. It is in the public domain that the way we worked until 2017 is different from the way we work now. It’s a fashion choice, “Ruto said.

The Deputy President appeared to point fingers at President Uhuru Kenyatta, accusing him of choosing other people over him to run government affairs after the 2017 elections.

President Samia arrived in Kenya earlier today for a two-day state visit. He inspected the honorary guard and received a 21-gun salute.

President Uhuru and First Lady Margaret Kenyatta will host an official Government dinner in honor of His Excellency President Samia Suluhu later tonight.

The settlement is also expected to address a joint session of the National Assembly and the Senate on Wednesday.

Yesterday, house speakers Justin Muturi and Kenneth Lusaka announced a special joint session.

“A notice has been issued to all Members of Parliament that the Speaker of the National Assembly, in consultation with the Speaker of the Senate, has scheduled a joint sitting of the National Assembly to be held on Wednesday, May 2021 at 2.30pm in the National Assembly. of Muturi.
