Details of Ruto’s Meeting with Khaligraph Jones


  • Deputy President William Ruto met with Kenyan rapper Khaligraph Jones and other artists to discuss the impact of the Covid-19 tragedy on the entertainment and creative industry.

    At the meeting, held at the DP residence, the artists raised issues affecting them and provided an opportunity to participate in smoothing out the road.

    Among the requests made is to create a special government fund to support artists during this holiday season where the government, and well-meaning people, would support the digital revolution in the digital space to enable online music concerts and help the industry adapt to the new standard.

    “At our meeting, we also discussed the possibility of coming up with a policy that will help weed out bureaucracy, brokers, and barriers that hinder industry growth.

    “We recognize that the artists have partnered with the government and we appreciate their proposal to help in tackling the scourge. We welcome their offer to strengthen the Covid-19 protocol enforcement campaign and vaccine as soon as it is fully delivered, “Ruto noted.

    Artists volunteered to lead a vigorous campaign to promote the Ministry of Health protocols and immunization programs as their contribution to the fight against Covid-19.

    In addition, they asked the Government to provide a clear map, timing, and measurable measures whose access would lead to the opening of the country. This, they noted, will help them plan the start of their activities.

    Ruto volunteered to submit their recommendations and recommendations to the National Emergency Response Committee on Coronavirus.

    Musicians previously tried to contact ODM leader Raila Odinga and DP Ruto over the dire situation brought on by the Covid-19 scandal.

    “If you help us in this situation, I will campaign for you in the next election,” Khaligraph told Ruto.

    In response, DP showed that he knows and understands the pain of sleeping on an empty stomach, adding that he is committed to helping the weak.

    “As a personal initiative, I am ready to help as we complete the same government programs. I will also encourage my friends to get more help,” Ruto replied.
