The Secretary General of the Kenya Primary Teachers Union (KUPPET) has called on Kenyans to adhere to the Covid-19 ban.

“Kenyans must faithfully adhere to the protocols to prevent the spread of the virus. The statement that prevention is better than cure has never been true in our country, “said KUPPET SG Akelo Misori.

In a statement, Misori noted that Kenya’s health care infrastructure would be disrupted if another operation was witnessed in the country.

At the same time he urged the government to provide public health facilities with the necessary Covid-19 management equipment as well as oxygen, respiratory equipment and medication to improve the level of care for Covid-19 patients.

“We urge the government to provide public health facilities with the necessary Covid-19 management equipment as well as oxygen, air and medicine to improve the quality of care for Covid-19 patients,” he added.

KUPPET Secretary General in a statement said the Union supports scientifically proven Covid-19 control protocols and commended the government for the Covid-19 immunization program, which has benefited a large number of front-line health workers and other key staff including and teachers.

Misori welcomed the announcement of Public Order No. 3 by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

He said the announcement, which completely opened up the five counties of Nairobi, Machakos, Kiambu, Nakuru and Kajiado counties that were declared a safe haven for millions of Kenyans who have lost their jobs, business failures and serious concerns from the COVID-19 disaster.
