COVID-19: 7 patients die while 125 more people are confirmed infected – Radio National

Seven coroners have been confirmed dead in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of disasters in the country to 1,786.

The Ministry of Health has also announced 125 new cases of viral infection from 1,953 samples tested.

These cases have increased the number of infections to 101,944 from a total of 1,216,695 samples tested so far.

72 of those infected today are Kenyans while 53 are foreign nationals, 56 men and 69 women, all between the ages of one and 75 years.

Nairobi County has recorded 94 cases, Kiambu 5, Laikipia 5, Kajiado 3, Kericho 3, Kilifi 3, Kwale 3, Mombasa 2, Nakuru 2, Machakos 1, Nyandarua 1, Kakamega 1, Trans Nzoia 1 and Uasin Gishu 1.

The Ministry of Health has also confirmed the recovery of 112 patients, bringing the total number of survivors in the country to 84,473.

Of those who survived, 84 were being treated at home while 28 were being treated at a hospital.

To date, a total of 384 patients are being treated at various health facilities in the country while another 1,333 are in the home care program.

Thirty-nine patients are in intensive care units, 15 of them using respirators while 20 receiving extra oxygen.
