Caritas Microfinance Bank has appointed David Mukaru as its new CEO


The Board of Caritas Microfinance Bank is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. David Mukaru as the Chief Executive Officer from 21 April 2021.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Methodist University of Kenya. In addition, he holds a Masters in Agricultural Business Management (MMA) at Strathmore Business School. He holds a Diploma in Business Management from the University of Mombasa Polytechnic, a Higher Certificate in Business Management from the Kenya Institute of Management as well as a 1 Bank Diploma from the Kenya Examinations Council.
He has attended several courses such as Higher Microfinance Leadership at Wharton Business School, Boulder Microfinance Training – Turin Italy, and many more courses that will benefit from his role as CEO. To add to this, he is also a Master of Financial Education.
He joins Caritas Microfinance Bank from Faulu MFB where he was Head of Business Growth, and before that he was at Equity Bank Kenya and Tanzania where he was Head of Micro Credit and General Manager Loans. He has 28 years of banking experience.
He is a highly experienced professional with a good leadership record of promoting a wide range of funds, non-financial products and connecting well-performing teams.
The Central Bank of Kenya has approved its appointment. The Board takes this opportunity to congratulate him on his appointment.
