In the transfer document signed by Sonko and the National Government, Badi was given the responsibility which includes Health, Transport and Public Works, Services and Assistance Services and Planning and Development and County Government Development.

The funds will also be funded by the Ward Development Fund handed over to Badi later. This will cost Ksh1.5 billion from Ksh21 billion.

With Ksh12 billion being spent on recurrent expenditure, Badi will only be left with Ksh 9.12 billion for development. In his final year in office, Badi wants to set up a good lighting, beautiful cameras, automatic underground parking and digital parks (Hate, Freedom Parks and Jevanjee) and mat bars from the CBD after building several stations.

He also wants to build connected roads and stretch garbage collection.

“Managing a city is like managing an army. When I finish, I will return to the army and not join politics, ”Badi said.

However, MCAs he accused her of misusing a certain funds, specifically Ksh1 billion which was allocated to control the Covid-119 epidemic. The lawmakers called for Badi to be held accountable for the money and said the crisis was badly managed in Nairobi.

They further alleged that the NMS did not have records detailing how they spent the money provided by the National Government.

Badi is currently enjoying a close relationship with the MCAs following the removal of Sonko as Governor of Nairobi in December 2020.

In his first year in office, the Chief of Kenya Air Force was denied access to funds by the former Governor and had to rely on loans and grants from the ministry. The money was released after Sonko’s removal from office.
