Application Opened for Facebook Social Accelerator App for Users in Kenya, Nigeria and SA –

Facebook invites community leaders from South Africa, Kenya and Nigeria to apply for the 2021. Facebook Community Acceleration Program. .

The goal of Social Accelerator is to help Facebook community leaders use the power of their community to turn opinions into actions. Elected leaders will spend five months learning from experts, coaches and an improved curriculum so that they can strengthen their community.

Lessons include the basics of community identity, action-oriented programs and sustainability. Participants will also gain early access to new Facebook products aimed at helping communities better manage and activate their members.

Make a plan

Participants will recognize an important initiative that will have a positive impact on the wider world and promote a program to mobilize their community closer to their goals. The programs will be shared by potential partners, counselors and a panel of judges for the opportunity to be awarded and receive public recognition.

Participants will spend three months implementing their plans. They will work with lawyers and leaders in the community space and will work with the Facebook team to bring their views.

How to apply

This initiative is open to communities that have a presence in Facebook Groups and leaders who are 18 years of age or older. Communities must exist for more than one year and must have a minimum of 1,000 members. Applications opened today, May 4 – 31, 2021.
