The president of the international boxing federation AIBA Umar Kremlev from Russia, is in Kenya where he is expected to lead an international conference online on Sunday February 7 while key issues of free boxing are expected to be discussed.

AIBA board directors and world boxing federal officials will attend Sunday’s online conference with the exception of President Kremlev, who will preside over the session from the Nairobi Kempiski restaurant.

Kremlev and his delegation landed in Nairobi on Friday for the conference which is the first of five AIBA-organized conferences this year to be held in every continent.

According to President Kremlev they planned to hold all five conferences last year but were forced to postpone them due to Covid 19 and managed to hold only three conferences in the Americas, Oceans and Asia while the European and African Conferences were canceled.

“Unfortunately last year due to the Covid 19 disaster we organized only three sessions on the continents of America, Oceania, and Asia, and the other two European and African cancellations,” said Kremlev.

“This year due to the situation we will prepare everything online so that everyone has the opportunity to participate, we will visit Africa to see what we need to strengthen in each country” added Kremlev

The main agenda at Sunday’s meeting in Africa is the introduction of new AIBA committees and competition schedules, a development plan for boxing federations, a communication plan from AIBA, a seminar on consumerism, reports from AIBA lawyers and answering questions of stakeholders.
