904 new Covid-19 cases are being copied in the country


An additional 904 people have been infected with the Covid-19 virus in the country after testing 5,673 samples in the last 24 hours bringing the total number of infected people in the country to 154,392.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Health, the prevalence rate is now 15.9 percent, with 885 being Kenyans and 19 being foreign nationals.

519 people are male while 385 are female with the youngest victim being a two-month-old baby and the oldest being 97-year-old.

The total number of samples studied in the country so far is 1,624,663.

Meanwhile 20 more disasters have been reported in the past 24 hours with seven deaths occurring on different dates in a single month while 13 deaths have been reported from health institution records.

The total number of disasters due to Covid-19 so far in the country is 2,560.

1,507 patients have been admitted to various health facilities across the country, with 6,834 patients placed in a home-based care program.

226 patients are admitted to the intensive care unit ICU, of which 52 are on respirators and 144 are receiving extra Oxygen air. Thirty patients are still under investigation.

A further 88 patients have recovered from the Covid-19 virus, 76 from various health facilities across the country and 12 from home-based care.

The total number of covid-19 survivors in the country is now 105,367 of whom 76,979 came out of the home-based care program and 28,388 from health facilities across the country.

Regarding the covid-19 vaccine control by Thursday, a total of 778,254 people have been vaccinated across the country of which 446,329 are 58 years of age and older, 148,358 are health workers, 119,161 are teachers and 64,406 are security officers.
