36 Young People Arrested At House Ceremony In Homa Bay –

Thirty-six youths were arrested last night during a house party in Koweo village in Rachuonyo East sub-county, Homa Bay County.

The children, aged between 12 and 17, included eight girls and 28 boys.

Four others escaped capture during the operation led by Kojwach Kawere sub-district Assistant Chief Isaiah Ondoro and Kojwach Kamyoro counterpart Fredrick Okeyo.

According to supervisors, the majority of the youths arrested included students who recently completed their Kenya Secondary Education Certificate (KCSE) and the Kenya Primary Education Certificate (KCPE).

Others were elementary school students.

The offices stormed the house around 11pm after receiving reports from the public who complained of loud music from the house.

Bottles of alcohol, two packets of unused condoms and two motorcycles suspected of being used to transport young children to the ceremony were found during the operation.

The children are currently being held at Ringa Police Station.
