179 in ICU as Covid Claims 18 More

137 people have tested positive for Covid-19, from a sample size of 1,641 tested in the last 24 hours.

According to a statement issued by CS CS Mutahi Kagwe on Monday, April 3 Kenya’s positive rating was
8.3%.

Of those cases, 129 are Kenyans while 8 are foreigners. 80 are men and 57 are women.

The youngest is a 14-year-old child while the oldest is 97 years old.

The distribution of good cases for age is as follows; Ages 0-9 (2), 10-19 years (6), 20-29 years (16), 30-39 years (39), 40-49 years (24), 50-59 years (21), 60 years high (29).

The total number of certified visas now is 160,559 and additional tests have been performed so far 1,681,420.

Sadly, 18 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours, 9 have occurred on different dates within the past one month while 9 are deceased death reports from the facility record audit.

“This now pushes additional deaths to 2,781. Our sincere greetings to the family and friends of those who have lost loved ones,” said a statement from CS Kagwe.

A total of 1,265 patients are currently hospitalized in various health facilities across the country, while 6,614 patients are in isolation from Home and Services.

179 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 29 of them have respiratory support and 110 on additional oxygen.

40 patients are on screen, another 127 patients are on the side with extra oxygen and
119 of them in total wards and 8 in the High Dependency Units (HDU).

CS Kagwe also said that as of May 3, a total of 887,034 people have been vaccinated against Covid-19 nationwide.

Of these 516,616 are 58 years of age and older as well as other recording groups; 158,168 health workers, 137,701 teachers, while security officers are 74,554.
